The Gilded Page: Patinated Metal Leaf on Paper

Snow Farm, The New England Craft Program, Williamsburg, MA
September 30-October 6, 2018

For centuries, artists have painted on gold leaf to illuminate their works. Discover what can happen when you move beyond gold leaf to explore copper, silver, and brass leaf on paper. Use patina solutions to change the metal leaf in colorful and sometimes unpredictable ways. Experiment with basic printmaking techniques like embossing, stenciling, and monotype to create unique textures with gilded paper.
